The Mimosa flower has a few different meanings, including a symbol for International Women's Day, a symbol of new beginnings, and a symbol of the sun.
The Mimosa flower represents the female strength, sensibility, and solidarity. In 1946, Italian feminists chose the mimosa as the official flower of International Women's Day, given to women on this day to show appreciation and support.
The color yellow evokes feelings of warmth and excitement! In many culture it is regarded as a symbol of celebrations and new beginnings.
As a woman owned business, in the business of spreading joy and celebrating new beginnings, this flower spoke to me. I also believe that now, more than ever, women need support and community. The name serves as my reminder and my commitment to support the women around me. On the lighter side, it also happens to be one of my very favorite drinks!
The word "floristry" encompasses all that I do. While I gain the most attention from my finished designs, I have spent many years coming to learn and understand the care of fresh flowers. Floristry is the art and business of floral design which includes a solid understanding in cutting, conditioning and caring for each variety of flower. Without this component of experience and knowledge, the design and expectations of my clients would suffer.

Prior to meeting us, we would like you to have your date and venue selected.
In an ideal world, we would love to meet with you during the same month of your wedding, a year before. Why? This gives you an opportunity to see your venue as it will be in the month of your wedding. This gives you a real visual sense for what is already existing, and what it might entail to bring your floral vision of the day, to life.
If this isn't an option, it's okay. 6-12 months is preferred. Especially to reserve the date.
Presently, we are a design studio by appointment only. Without a retail location, we are able to focus on what we do best-custom designs for weddings and events!
We are currently located in Killingworth, CT.
This is really our number one questions from clients, and understandably so. Without sounding vague, our
short answer is- it depends.
And it will depend on things like flower selection, seasonal availability, scope and style of the event.
Which often leads to the next question...do you offer packages? No, we don't. We create beautiful designs that are tailored to your specification, style and taste. Therefore, no two events are ever the same.
During your consultation, you will gain a much better understanding of our pricing. And we will both know if Mimosa is a fit for for you. If it is, the next step in moving forward will be a written proposal outlining our design ideas with a break down of cost. At this point, we require a deposit to hold the date. But continue to tweak and work on the design.
However, if you are looking for a full service wedding, which includes: personal bouquets, a full ceremony set-up with aisle flowers and a floral arch, reception flowers and other floral installations, our average bride spends 8k-10k. (Above that, we require a wedding planner).
All of our services begin with an email inquiry from you.
In your email, you can let us know the best way to contact you, what service you are interested in, the date and name of your venue. Also, if you have any inspiration images you would like to share, those can be submitted as well. Sometimes, a picture really is worth a thousand words.
We will get back to your immediately. Please keep in mind, our busiest season is wedding season. (June through November)
